A philosophy that I am very proud of, but do any of you know where it's from without using google?

it does sound familiar... I may ask my manager if he recognizes it... he is always quoting stuff so i am pretty sure i heard it from him. and its not Googling it.

Asking someone is fair game. Any of you guys should know someone who has seen/read the source. It does have a cult following.

Plus the fact that you can see or read it.

With Dr Horrible you have nearly hit the mark in two areas.

Now I just want to fire off a long list of his projects:

Dollhouse
Buffy
Angel
Firefly
Serenity

Is that cheating? That list just makes me realize how awesome he is. How many cult following projects can one man have?

If it's not him...I miss the connection.

Well now you just have to narrow the list down. Firefly and Serenity are the same thing in my book. Just find where the saying would best fit and two aspects of Dr Horrible that also fall into line with it.

And that inspires my weekend. I may have to immerse myself in the genius of Joss - rent some movies or stream some old TV.

my sister is up for the week and i know she watches Dr. Horrible's sing along blog so i asked her and then read the all the hints you gave to her and she summed it up for me very quickly.

Good sister, yes the source of the motto is from the episode 12 of Firefly "The Message". Mal Reynolds AKA Captain Hammer reminds his old war buddy of the time old adage, right before said buddy dies and has to be carried back to his home.
