Arena Battling

You can fight other players that are the same level as you up to those that are four levels higher. Example: a level 5 player can fight players level 5 through 9.

There are several ways to find players to fight:
1. Going to another clans member list.
2. Clicking on the Battle link.
3. Clicking on the Rankings link. This list is sorted on experience (XP) with your player as the focal point, but can be sorted on any of the following headings: Fame, XP, Zorkmids, Cards Collected, Encounter Ratio, Battle Ratio, & Adventures Completed.
4. Clicking on your Enemies link. (You need to previously add other players to this list).

Before fighting anyone, you need to have several statistics written down from your Inventory link so you will be able to determine who to fight:
1. Total Attack.
2. Total Defense.
3. Attack stance. (Determined by weapons)
4. Defense stance. (Determined by armor)
5. Magic stance. (Determined by spells)
6. Attitude stance. (Set in your character profile)

Along with each stance, write down what beats it and what it beats. (The item in your PRIMARY weapon/armor slot determines your stance. If you have more than 1 item that will work in the PRIMARY slot, write it down as well.)

Having written down those six items, you still need to know the range of experience you can fight against.

At the bottom of this post you will find 3 columns of numbers.
1. The level.
2. Lowest XP needed to reach the level.
3. Highest XP the level can fight.

Example: a level 5 player can fight players with XP between 13,000(lowest XP for level 5) and 50,499(highest XP for level 9).

Now you are ready to start battling in the arena. I have found that the best way to fight in the arena, while adding to your Enemies list, is with the Rankings list sorted on Fame. Opening the Rankings list in a separate tab/window is best.

Start going through the list looking for players whose XP falls in the range you can fight.
Click on the name of the player.
Check below the avatar to be sure he/she is not one of your clan mates. (It's not nice to fight among ourselves.)
Click on the Statistics button to see his/her stances.
Click on the Fight in Battle button.
Using your total attack and defense numbers(BE EXTRA CAREFUL HERE), determine if you think you can defeat the player. Remember that attack beats defense and defense beats attack.
If you think you can defeat the player, make adjustments to your stances to increase your odds.
Click on the Fight! button.
You can wager up to 100 times your level on the outcome. Example: a level 5 player can wager up to 500 Zorkmids.
Click on the Fight! button again and the fight is on.
Click the back button on your browser.
If you won, click on the Add as Enemy button to add the player to your Enemies list. (This also adds you to their Enemies list)
Click the back button on your browser again to get back to the Rankings list.

After going through the Rankings list, you should have a number of players in your Enemies list.

This way you can fight all in your Enemies list before going to the Rankings list.

I'm guessing you don't have the Warrior skill. If you don't, you need to respec your character pronto. I have max gear and fight a lot of others that also have max gear because they don't have the Warrior skill (you can always check, to a degree, how your opponent has used their Skill points)... and can sometimes win those fights at 100%+.

I DO have the warrior skill. That is why I cannot see why I do so bad against him. Yes his specs are good, but not maxed out in def. Is there a skill that can just kick my butt? If so what is it?

I also have all the bunny gear and then some that is better than his.

Well first you must be sure that you equipment is compatible with the warrior skill. Next you want to make sure that you have all the trainer skills you can get for your level.

Good point Ginzaki. Zork, can you post up your character link? I'd like to see what you're using and how you have your points spread out.

On a side note, since I'm right at the threshhold of being in the top 500 on LoZ in terms of XP, I'll be using all of my AP (except for 1 for a daily adventure) on battling for the foreseeable future. The pickings are pretty plump at Level 60... most people there have either used their skill points poorly or, in some cases, quit before the bunny gear came out. Easy 29 wins a day for The BGL. Wouldn't mind pushing for that 200K clan wins mark
